House Week 11

We are starting to count down the days till our house is done. This last week was the installation of the carpet and sinks. It is really starting to come along and look like a home. This next week they will be doing the finishing touches and then on Friday we have the pre-walk through. As long as everything has been completed to our liking then we should be able to officially close on the house a week later. Our appliances should be in this week and of course the touch up work through out the house. Both Caleb and Mackenzie had a good time running through the house now that there is carpet all over the place. Caleb has already started to tell us which room he wants. At this point I don't think Mackenzie has a preference. She just likes to hide in the closets.

House Week 10

There weren't too many changes for week 9 so that is why we didn't post anything. This last week a lot was done as you can see. All of the electrical outlets and lighting are in, the vinyl flooring is in and the cabinetry is complete. Nicky was really excited when we stopped by because she was able to see her kitchen and get a better idea of what it was going to look like. They are suppose to do the carpet this week along with some other cosmetic work. The end of next week is going to be our pre-walk through and then on the 10th of Oct. is our closing date. We are definitely counting down and getting excited. The pictures are of the exterior, kitchen, pantry, master bathroom, and the kids bathroom.

First Day of School

So Nicky and some of the other girls in our ward got together and decided to put a pre-school program together. Its twice a week and they rotate where it is at and who is in charge of teaching. They have field trips, lessons, and other activities planned out. Caleb was so excited to start school. He couldn't wait to use his backpack and his new pencils and crayons and other fun school tools. He actually didn't want to leave when it was time to go. Of course we had to take away his scissors already because he was having way too much fun with those. Caleb really loved having Spiderman on his backpack and lunch pale.

Weekend in Twin

This was a great weekend for Nicky and her side of the family. Her brother Derek and her cousin Terrence and his wife flew up from Phoenix, AZ for the weekend. They all drove down to Twin Falls for the weekend and spent most of Friday in the Twin Falls Temple. Nicky's Grandpa Burner past away a couple of years ago and they did his temple work on Friday. Nicky said it was a great experience having so much family down there and being able to link the family eternally. The kids had a great time playing at the part down near Shoshone Falls. Caleb had his fishing pole and got in some good practice and Mackenzie had fun hanging out with Terrence. Cameron had to work all day Friday so he stayed home all weekend and did the solo act. Fortunately he has made some friends in our new ward so was able to kill some time playing video games and watching TRON with Glenn.

Our Little Baby

So we still don't know what we are having and are not planning on finding out. It's been a lot of fun keeping it a surprise. Of course we do have some people wanting to know so they can get things but that can always wait till the baby gets here. The heart beat was good and healthy and it measured good too. Cameron is getting excited to have another little one join the family and doesn't care what it is. Nicole is anxious to get this baby out of her and is starting to get uncomfortable. She has less than 8 weeks to go and hopes to be in the new house before the baby gets here. She hopes to be somewhat settled and have her own place for the new addition.

House Week 8

Not much has changed with the house this week. They finished up the exterior and completed the tap and texture for the interior. The next couple weeks we should be big with changes on the interior.

Family Walk

So we went on a family walk and as you can see Caleb is not in any of the pictures. Trying to get that boy to stay in one spot long enough to take one especially when he is on his bike is not an easy task. Nicky is doing great with the pregnancy and looking good. If you look close enough in the picture of her posing her belly you can see Caleb off in the distance on his bike. He was that far in front of us most of the way. Mackenzie just wanted to ride on our shoulders or walk along with us. She had fun with all the flowers that were out. It was a gorgeous day for a walk so we have to take advantage before Fall sets in officially.

Playing in the Corn Rows

Caleb and Mackenzie had so much fun playing in the corn and hiding. They would chase each other around and hide from us. They even helped pick some of the corn for dinner. Mackenzie wasn't completely sure about it at first but once she noticed her brother running around and having fun she was game. It was actually harder to get her out of there than it was to get her to go in. Being so small was actually to her advantage as she was able to stay below the leaves hanging on the stalks. Caleb just had fun running through them as fast as he could, hiding, and of course chasing Mackenzie around.

House Week 7

The siding is up, the shutters are on, the garage doors are in, and the drywall is complete!! Can you believe how fast things are moving? The picture is not the greatest because of the lighting the day we went out. The shutters are blue and the exterior siding is a yellow/creme. It looks really good and we can't wait to see the finished product. The interior pictures are of the family room and the kitchen. It was fun to come back after a long weekend and see how much they had done the previous week.

Labor Day Weekend

For our Labor Day Weekend we went down to Twin Falls, Idaho and spent it with Nicky's parents. It was a great time to play and relax. We spent all day Saturday at the south hills on the 4-wheelers. As you can see the kids loved it. We kept it pretty simple so Nicky could come along. Most of the trails we went on were old logging roads and simple trails so it wasn't too bumpy for Nicky. Caleb and Mackenzie had a blast with their grandparents. Caleb wanted to start out riding with his Papa Staples and then back with his Daddy. He was pretty happy as long as he was riding and we were moving. A couple times he wanted to drive himself. If you leave the key in unattended he will try. At the beginning Mackenzie just slept. She was sitting behind her daddy and in front of her mommy and after the first half hour she was out. She fell asleep against her mommy's arm. Later towards the end of the day after she woke up she was alert and looking all around. It was a great day but very dirty.
