Disneyland Trip
We decided to take a week vacation and head down to California. For the first half of the trip we spent it in SoCal. We visited a bunch of friends down there and had a great time at Disneyland. The kids loved all the rides and characters. Unfortunately we didn't get to see all of princess that Mackenzie wanted to but we did see Tinker Bell and she was really excited about that. We ended up meeting up with one of my co-workers that happened to be down there the same weekend and our kids had a blast together. Next time I think we are going to have to make it more than a 1 day visit. There was not nearly enough time to see everything and ride everything we wanted to.

Chunky Baby
Kaitlyn has gotten so big. She is not even six months old yet and she is so chunky. She is already growing out of some of her 6-9 month clothes. She has rolls on her rolls. Her latest thing is playing with her feet. Anytime you put her on the ground, as long as she is in a good mood, she will grab her feet and hang on. She starts to laugh and pulls them to her mouth. It's funny and entertaining.

Easter Family Pictures
Nicky decided that she wanted to have everyone dress up for Easter and get some pictures of our little family. Cameron and Caleb both had on green button up shirts while Mackenzie and Kaitlyn had matching dresses of pink and purple. Nicky went with a nice blue to contrast the rest of the family. Everyone looked really cute and we got some really good family pictures out of it. Of course it didn't hurt that we used the kids Easter candy as a way to bribe them in order to get them to smile for us. We told them if they smiled big and sat where we told them they could have some of their candy. Worked like a charm.

Easter Egg Hunt
We spent our Easter weekend down in Twin Falls with Nicky's family. The neighbors put on an Easter Egg Hunt for the ward and our kids had a blast. Caleb took off on his own and was doing great. At one point we had to tell him to stop so that there would be enough eggs for the other kids. Once he realized he needed to stop he started to help Mackenzie look for them and point them out. He was a great big brother to her and made sure she found a lot herself. We all had a great time running around, even though it was a little cold outside. Caleb wanted to start eating all the candy right away, so we had to put down some rules so we wouldn't have to deal with a sugar high all day.

Date Night
Five years ago on April 1st Nicky and I met for the first time. To celebrate and of course get a good excuse for a babysitter we decided we wanted to go on a date Friday night. Trying to stay out of trouble I figured it would be good to plan a nice dinner and then a movie or whatever Nicky wanted. I left it up to her to decide. I promise this was all her doing but of course I didn't argue. When all was said and done we ended up getting a relatively fast dinner at Q' doba and then headed for the Qwest Arena for hockey game. We even had some friends of ours meet us there. I have to admit I am the luckiest guy. I got a great meal that I didn't have to do the dishes and a hockey game without getting in trouble. Now you can't beat that for a date night. Both sides won on this one.

Cereal Time
Messy, but well worth it. Kaitlyn has started eating cereal now. As you can see it is a very messy process but Nicky is loving it because he means less feeding from her and longer hours through the night. Kaitlyn is still unsure about the whole thing. She hasn't taken well to a bottle and doesn't always play nice when its time to eat. I think she just loves her mommy so much she doesn't want to eat any other way.

Cast Off!!
Mackenzie got her cast off today and couldn't be happier. She was walking all over the place and honestly walked like she had too much to drink. She went up to everyone and showed them her foot and would say, "Look, cast off." Then she would start walking all over the place like nothing ever happened. When we first got to the doctors office she was fast asleep. As soon as they started cutting into the cast to take it off she was up. She freaked out a little until she realized her Daddy was right there holding her. After the cast was off they did some X-Rays and everything looked great. We have to keep her from overdoing it for the next couple of weeks but other than that things are looking good.

Visit to the Doctors
It looks like Mackenzie is the first of our kids to have to get a cast put on. This last weekend while she was going down the slide with another girl in our park her foot got caught and twisted on her. She started to cry so we took her home and iced it. We kept an eye on her over the weekend but come Monday she still would not walk on it and complained that it hurt. We took her into the Doctors on Monday morning and they took X-rays but couldn't tell. They wanted a specialist to look at them and said they would call us on Wednesday. So on Wednesday we got the call that she had a Toddler Fracture or what's also known as a Spiral Fracture. So this afternoon we took her and she got fitted for her first cast. She did amazing and was really happy to have a new bright pink sock put on her foot. Give it a couple of days and I bet she won't be as happy. She has to have it on for three weeks. On top of this we are potty training her and she is doing really good. We just hope not being able to walk won't hinder her progress with staying dry.

Mackenzie's Birthday
Mackenzie with her new princess dress and night gown.
Mackenzie just turned 2 years old and got to celebrate it for two days. We had a little princess party on Saturday for all of her little girlfriends in the neighborhood. They all had so much fun. Nicole had little necklaces and rings and other jewelry for them to wear. On Sunday we had more of a laid back birthday party for her with the family. Grandma and Grandpa Roberts got to see her open her present from them on the webcam and she opened her presents from us too. She had so much fun being a little princess and of course daddy loves his little princess and calls her that all the time. I doubt she will have much of a complex.

Make-Up
So Mackenzie had her first experience with make-up. When mom had her back turned she went into our bathroom and found moms large selection of beauty tools. The next thing we know Mackenzie is sitting on the floor with mascara all over her face. At least she got most of it near her eye. She has a good idea of where it is suppose to go. Hopefully we can keep her from actually wanting to wear makeup for awhile.

Trip to McCall, ID
Cameron just got back from an all day trip up to McCall, Idaho for their Winter Festival. His work took all of them up there as a reward for a job well done. They spend the day looking at all of the ice sculptures that are famous during this time and playing in the snow. I wonder sometimes who the real kids are in our family...lol Overall he had a great time hanging out with his fellow co-workers and a nice break from everyday work.

Baby Blessing
While Mom and Dad were in town for the weekend we blessed Kaitlyn at church. Bethany and Nathan came up from Utah to be there for it along with Nicky's parents who came up from Twin Falls. Kaitlyn looked so cute in her little blessing dress. We had a lot of fun having so much family in town for our special occasion.
